Version 4.9.781 - April 9, 2015
- Performance improvement when removing signatures from the Body.
- Performance improvement when saving against multiple related (parent) records.
Version 4.9.777 - March 3, 2015
- Fix for rare problem opening a previously saved .msg file where the file remains locked after opening and cannot be opened again, or by someone else.
Version 4.9.764 - November 5, 2014
- Fix for rare problem with the Auto Save feature involving a very high volume of messages backlogged for processing, and receiving many hundreds of messages at a very fast rate.
Version 4.9.741 - October 17, 2014
- Minor issue fixed when attempting to save an item (i.e. contact, calendar) and there is no mapping for that item type.
Version 4.9.734 - August 26, 2014
- The SendToQuickBase Admin program has a new menu named Users. This allows you to easily Add and View the Users on your organization's license. Note it is not necessary to add Users who install SendToQuickBase for use with Outlook (on Windows) as they are automatically added to your license when registering after install.
- The Is In operator now works when searching against numeric fields (i.e. InvoiceNumber IS IN Subject).
- There were numerous Record Select dialog improvements made (the dialog that appears when saving, and no matching record is found), including:
- The dialog is now resizable, and the last position and size is restored each time it is opened. It can even be maximized.
- The column widths are dynamically resized to use all available space in the list of records.
- You can now dynamically filter the list of records shown by typing into the edit box on the dialog. On the Options dialog Preference tab, you can set how many characters must be typed before filtering begins. The default is 2.
- When saving multiple items (i.e. emails, contacts, etc.), a new Skip feature bypasses the current item and goes onto the next.
- Also when saving multiple, a new Skip Remaining feature ignores the remaining items (i.e. not saved).
- Find Next feature now highlights the portion of the text containing the match.
- Pressing Enter will perform the Find Next feature (same as Find Next button).
- If the row found with a match using Find Next is at the bottom of the visible records, it is moved to the top of the visible records.
- The layout of the dialog and button labeling has been improved.
- There is a checkbox allowing selection/de-selection of all records instead of two buttons on the dialog.
- A Help link displays a video describing the dialog.
- If you selected a row, then deselected it, it was still used to save against, including the Select All and Deselect All.
- A new feature called Chain Mappings allows you to have one mapping chain another to create more than one Quick Base record from a single item save. For example, save an Outlook Contact and create a record in the Company table, then chain to a mapping that creates a Contact record against that Company. Or save an email creating a new Task record with an Activity against that Task. Note: To use chaining, you must enable the option found on the Saving tab called "Allow saving same item to different tables (using different mappings)".
- SendToOutlook has a new parameter HTMLBodyNLtoBR.
- Obscure problem fixed where if you selected one mapping, saved an item, unselected that mapping in SendToQuickBase Options, and selected a different one, the next save used the previous mapping.
- When using the option "If multiple records match on save, save a copy with all of them", a copy was being saved against only the first two matching records instead of all of them.
Version 4.8.704 - March 28, 2014
- SendToOutlook now supports shared Exchange folders to save into. For example, create an appointment in a share Calendar folder. See the SendToOutlook documentation for more details.
- Using File/Save As to duplicate a mapping caused the original mapping to be altered after editing the copy.
Version 4.7.699 - March 7, 2014
- To avoid Outlook 2013 disabling the SendToQuickBase add-in for starting slowly, the default setting for the Quick Start Preference is checked.
Version 4.7.698 - January 30, 2014
- Office 2013 (32-bit) and Office 365 (32-bit desktop) are now fully supported in addition to Outlook 2003, 2007 and 2010 (32-bit).
- Quick Base Address field types are now supported. You must "map" each individual component of the Address field (i.e. Street, City, etc) as Quick Base does not allow setting of the Address field as a whole.
- A new SendToOutlook parameter AddUserDefinedField allows dynamically adding of Outlook User Defined Fields. See the SendToOutlook documentation for more details.
- The SendToOutlook documentation describes how to set parameters so that an item saved into Outlook can later be changed by someone, and then updated in Quick Base using SendToQuickBase.
Version 4.6.683 - January 21, 2014
- There is a new special field that can be saved into Quick Base named "Email Headers". This will save the From, Date, To, Cc, Bcc and Subject.
- When saving emails, you can now append multiple email fields into the same Quick Base File Attachment field. For example, you could save the Subject and Body (or HTML Body) into a File Attachment field named Email Message.
Version 4.5.680 - December 17, 2013
- When saving a value into a Quick Base checkbox field, the value of 't' is now allowed indicating it is checked, in addition to the previously allowed values of 'true', 'yes', and '1'.
Version 4.5.679 - August 28, 2013
- Allow two character Quick Base Account URL prefixes. Previous minimum was three.
Version 4.5.673 - June 5, 2013
- Removal of signatures which reference images on a local drive has been improved.
- Handle removal of signatures containing invalid mailto statements that have subject or body parameters containing spaces.
- The Quick Base Host of www.quickbase.com is no longer accepted now that all Quick Base users have their own Account URL, such as acme.quickbase.com.
- Fixed issue with incorrect current date/time being saved when mapped to Quick Base field.
Version 4.4.656 - February 6, 2013
- Quick Base "List - User" field type is now supported.
- Changes made to account for the use of Quick Base Account URLs (i.e. YourCompanyName.quickbase.com instead of www.quickbase.com).
- When saving into Quick Base and the Record Picker dialog appeared, if an apostrophe was entered as part of the Find value, the find would fail.
- Rare problem corrected with SendToOutlook when attachments used and an "access denied" message was displayed.
- Corrected rare problem with Auto Save displaying an error message causing saves to be halted until OK was clicked.
- Problem saving attachments with Unicode characters in the file name was resolved. (Unicode characters replaced with underscores.)
Version 4.4.641 - October 9, 2012
- An issue when using the Is In operator along with AND across multiple search lines was corrected.
- A problem was corrected that occurred when entering an apostrophe in the Record Picker Find window.
Version 4.4.640 - July 20, 2012
- When using the cloud feature to save emails using the special Bcc approach, you may now set options such as saving replies, saving attachments, using a Default Record, and more. These options may be set on your User record in your SendToQuickBase License found in the SoftTechExperts Product Licenses Quick Base Application.
Version 4.3.638 - June 12, 2012
- Improved handling of saving an email body in MHTML format (a.k.a. MHT or Web Archive single web page).
- SendToOutlook better handles setting of MHTML files as the body of an email message.
- A problem was fixed causing time values to be incorrectly adjusted for time zones during Day Light Savings (DST).
- The automatic detection and use of a proxy server to connect to Quick Base has been improved.
Version 4.3.613 - March 26, 2012
- New "is in" comparison - To help locate the associated record (a.k.a. related or parent record), there is a new comparison "is in" for use when creating a mapping. For example, Company Name is in Subject, or Account Number is in Body. Note: Due to the Quick Base limit of having no more than 99 lines in a search, this comparison may not always locate the parent record when using a long email Body as part of the search as SendToQuickBase creates a search that compares against each word, and combination of words.
- A new option "Use Default Record if no match found on save" is available on the Preferences tab under SendToQuickBase Options in Outlook. If a mapping defines a Default Record, this option must be turned on to use it. (It is off by default.) Note that when using the cloud feature, the Default Record is always used.
- If the "Use Default Record..." option is not turned on, a new button called "Use Default" on the Record Picker can be used to save against the Default Record.
- On the dialog asking to save in Quick Base (Yes/No/Cancel) when sending a new email, there is a checkbox allowing you to decide if attachments should be saved. Note the "Save Attachments" option is still available on the Preferences tab controlling if attachments are stored when saving received emails using the "Save in Quick Base" button.
- SendToOutlook has a new parameter IncludeSignature. If this is set to True, and your Outlook setting has a signature defined for new email messages, it is included in the message. Note that if your Outlook setting is to create HTML messages, you should use the SendToOutlook parameter HTMLBody instead of Body to get the correct signature.
- While clicking the "Save in Quick Base" or "Save and Open" button, if the Shift key on the keyboard is held down, the opposite of the Save Attachments option is taken. That is, if Save Attachments is checked, holding the Shift while clicking "Save in Quick Base" will not save attachments, and vice-a-versa. This is also the case when using the "Save in Quick Base and Send" button on a new item.
- While clicking the "Save in Quick Base and Send" button, if the Ctrl key on the keyboard is held down, the Quick Base record is opened after the save.
- Handle very, very long text values being saved into Quick Base, such as a very long email body (over 65,536 characters). Note that the text must be truncated to 65,536 characters due to system limitations.
- A new option can be set that requires the latest update of SendToQuickBase to be installed before it is used. Contact Support for details on how to set this feature.
- SendToOutlook attachment filenames can now have a comma in them. However, this requires putting double quotes around the filename.
- Using SendToOutlook, you can now send an email message addressed individually to each recipient instead of a single message to everyone.
- When using the SendToOutlook option to send individual messages, you can request they be deleted from the Sent Items folder after sent by Outlook.
- A new SendToOutlook option allows you to turn off SendToQuickBase to prevent prompting during sending an email, or searching for an existing match..
Version 4.2.587 - January 11, 2012
- In the mapping of information into Quick Base fields to be saved, or defining the search for a related record, you can now reference the SendToQuickBase User Name entered at time of registration. This is done using special User-Defined fields called SendToQuickBaseFirstName, SendToQuickBaseLastName and SendToQuickBaseFullName. For example, enter in the Outlook column User-Defined:SendToQuickBaseFullName.
Version 4.1.580 - December 21, 2011
- Default Record - When saving an item into Quick Base, if the related (parent) record such as Contact, Lead, Project, etc. is not found, you can now specify a default record to be used as the related one. This allows for saving the item even if there is no related record found. A default record is setup as part of the mapping, where optionally a search is defined to locate a default record. For example, Contact Name equals "To Be Filed". Since the default record is a search, it can be user specific. For example, Record Owner equals User-Defined: QuickBaseUserName And Contact Name equals "To Be Filed".
- Sort Descending - The records shown in the record picker when saving an item with no matching (or multiple) related record can now be sorted descending (i.e. Z to A, high to low, newest to oldest). Previously the sort was always ascending. This is set in the mapping on the sort page.
Version 4.0.566 - November 3, 2011
- Cloud Feature - SendToQuickBase is not just for Outlook anymore! You can now save your emails from any email program, on any platform, including smart phones and tablets. Simply put a special email address in the Bcc. There is no software that needs to be installed. This includes Mac (Apple Mail, Entourage, any email program), Gmail on a PC, Mac or Linux, Yahoo mail, Android phones, Blackberry, iPhone, iPad, and of course, from Windows (Outlook, Thunderbird, any email program). Read more....
- Add new record - When saving into Quick Base, if a related record is not found (i.e. Contact, Customer, Project, etc.), and the list of records is displayed to choose from, you can now add a new record using the Add button. After adding the record, use the Retry button to perform the save against the new record.
- New "Save and Send" feature - When composing a new email message, you can now click a single button on the toolbar to both save it into Quick Base, and send it.
- New "Save and Save" feature - When creating a new Outlook appointment/meeting, contact, task, etc., you can now click a single button on the toolbar to both save it into Quick Base, and save in Outlook.
- Open related record - A new option allows you to open the related record when using "Save and Open", or when saving a new item and checking the box to open it. For example, you can now save an email against a Contact, and have the Contact open in Quick Base instead of the email itself. In the SendToQuickBase Options on the Preferences tab, check the box "Open related record when open after save".
- Performance has been improved when searching for a related (a.k.a. parent) record and no match is found in large tables with many thousands of records.
- Performance using the "Open Related " (formerly called "Find Related") has been improved for items saved with this updated version.
- MHTML supported - An email message can be mapped to a Quick Base field using the MHTML format (a.k.a. "web archive") by mapping the "MHTML Body" field. This should be used to preserve embedded images in the body as HTML Body does not preserve embedded images. Since Quick Base only supports a limited subset of HTML tags in a Text field, it is suggested to map to a File Attachment field instead. Note that under Outlook 2003, MHTML Body reverts to HTML Body since it's not supported.
- Video tutorials are now available.
- The Outlook field Owner can now be mapped on any item (i.e. Appointment, Meeting, Email, Task, etc.).
- Two new Outlook properties can now be mapped into Quick Base fields - Folder and Folder Path. Example of Folder might be "Clients", whereas Folder Path might be "Inbox\Clients"
- The total number of records is shown on the dialog displaying multiple record matches (or all records) to select a related record.
- The "Send and Open" button was changed to "Save and Open" to be consistent.
- Removal of signatures with images has been improved.
- While you could previously search on Date/Time fields to locate a related record when saving, you can now also search on Date and Time of Day fields.
- If using the "same domain" option and there are no matching records with the same domain, all records are shown for selection.
- When using the feature to extract a portion of an Outlook field to be saved into Quick Base, you can now limit to a single match, and on multiple matches, can specify the delimiter between matches. As before, this requires assistance from SoftTechExperts, so contact us if you have this need.
- When mapping Outlook fields into Quick Base fields, it was always possible to extract a portion of an Outlook field to be saved into Quick Base instead of the entire value (i.e. extract a customer number from the Subject). Now when mapping Email Headers and Body, Current Date, Current Date/Time, and Quick Base username, you can extract a portion of those values too.
- SendToOutlook can now create email messages using other email programs besides Outlook. As long as there is a program registered on the computer to handle email requests, SendToOutlook can create the email message. Note that directly sending the message without showing it ("&Show=False") only works using Outlook.
- SendToOutlook has a new feature to set the Picture when creating a Outlook Contact. Specify Picture=image, where image can be a local file path, URL, or a Quick Base file attachment. See the SendToOutlook documentation for more details.
- SendToOutlook displays a progress dialog.
- SendToOutlook supports setting the body of an email using the MHTML format. Use MHTMLBody as the field name.
- Using SendToOutlook you can insert "variables" inside the contents of a File Attachment value being set in an Outlook field, with values you specify in the URL. See the SendToOutlook documentation for more details.
- SendToOutlook ignores empty File Attachment paths instead of reporting an error. This simplifies Quick Base Formula creation.
- SendToOutlook has a new parameter named EmbedImages to control how images within email messages are sent (links versus embedded into the message). See the SendToOutlook documentation for more details.
- Work-around added in SendToOutlook for an Internet Explorer bug where the command line passed is not encoded as it should be.
- To avoid Internet Explorer's URL length limitation, SendToOutlook can be instructed to get the command line from a Quick Base field. See the SendToOutlook documentation for more details.
- To assist with diagnosing problems, additional information is logged in the unlikely event of an error.
- Damaged mappings are now reported.
- When searching for a related record using an email address and User-defined:QuickBaseUserName with the option "Only include records with the same domain in the email address", records were not found that should have been.
- A problem was fixed when searching for a related record using more than one Quick Base email field, and using the option "Only include records with the same domain in the email address".
- Some SendToOutlook issues with Outlook 2010 have been resolved.
- When searching on a single email address to locate the associated (a.k.a. parent) record, an error could occur caused by single quotes around the email address.
